Abstract: American transcendentalism, also called New England Transcendentalism or American Renaissance, represented by Ralph Waldo Emerson, is a literary and philosophical movement, asserting the existence of an ideal spiritual reality that transcends the empirical and scientific and is knowable through intuition. Emerson’s little book, Nature, generally regarded as the Bible of New England Transcendentalism, made a tremendous impact on the intellectual life of America. This paper aims to analyze the views in Nature to show what are transcendentalism and its impact on Romanism literature.

摘要: 美国超验主义也叫“新英格兰超验主义”或者 “美国文艺复兴”，是一种文学和哲学运动，宣称存在一种理想的精神实体，超越于经验和科学之处，通过直觉得以把握,其代表人物是爱默生。他在《论自然》一书中深刻阐释了超验主义的精髓，对美国的文学生活产生了巨大的影响。本论文通过对《论自然》的分析来探讨什么是超验主义及其对美国浪漫主义文学的影响。
