Abstract: Film is an artistic form loved by the people. Nowadays, as the international culture and communication are in a deep-going way, film, which has a great and incomparable influence, has been a main channel of cultural dissemination. Because of the cultural differences between China and western countries, western films should have an excellent and apt Chinese title to attract Chinese audience. Film title translation, a summary of a film’s content, should be briefly, connotatively and skillfully composed. This paper first briefly introduces some methods of English-Chinese film title translation according to some basic directing translation principles, and then discusses some requirements that film title translators should meet.

摘要：电影是一种人们喜闻乐见的艺术形式。在国际文化交流日渐深入的今天，电影已成为文化传播的主要渠道，其巨大的影响力为其他艺术形式所不能比拟。由于中西方文化的差异。西方电影要吸引中国观众，必须有一个精彩贴切的中文片名。翻译的片名必须经过精心构思，对作品内容进行高度概括，简洁精练又内涵丰富。本论文首先以基本的翻译原则为指导，简单地介绍英文电影片名汉译的几种方法，然后重点指出英语电影片名的汉译对译者的几点要求。
