Abstract: Jane Austen is widely known for her exquisite feminine writing, the rich emotion and love depiction. In the literature history she had skillfully used her limited but vivid experiences to carve on the inch of ivory, and showed the philosophy of life in the unromantic stories of the middle-class people. In persuasion, she focused on one pair of lovers. Each of them fought against the social tradition and oppression and at last earned their love and happiness back. This paper aims to analyze the essence of love in Persuasion，which is the true meaning of love, uncontrollable and pursuable, long-lasting and full of sacrifice, making people forgive and progress. The novel proves that true love is extraordinary, and unconquerable.

摘要：简奥斯汀是以她细致的女性手法与丰富的情感描写为世人所知，她着笔于英国十八世纪乡村中产阶级的婚恋故事，在看似平淡的情节中昭示人生、人性的深意。在其小说《劝导》中， 奥斯汀着重描写了一对恋人，因社会习俗和观念被迫放弃爱情， 但最终与压力进行斗争并赢回自己的爱情与幸福。在真爱面前， 任何阻拦都是微不足道的。 本论文着力分析爱情的本质，即在小说中体现出的爱情的情不自禁、努力追求和持之以恒，以及爱情战胜仇恨和使人奋进的精神。《劝导》告诉我们真爱坚不可摧。
