Abstract:As a part of language which exists objectively, euphemism reflects the social culture. This dissertation focuses on the application of English euphemisms in tour guide English presentation and service, business English communication and grammatical function, advertisements and news, social occupation and problems. People find that using some kinds of words would cause embarrassment in some occasions which affect the communication. Euphemism seems to be the lubricant that beautifies the words and makes the expression in a tactful and implicit way. Learning English euphemisms make us perform better in the daily communication.
