Abstract:Frankenstein is widely considered the first science fiction in the western culture. Although Mary Shelley never wrote novels before , she made Frankenstein successful and influential. As a Gothic novel, Frankenstein contains some dark and terrifying plots. However, something deeper than that is what made Frankenstein a classic novel. Mary Shelley questioned the perverted science, the consequence of which was really tragic. She also talked about moral issues in the novel. Death is a major topic and this paper will try to figure out the meaning of death in Frankenstein.
