Abstract:Professor Zhang Peiji’s prose translation is featured with excellent literary talent and fluency which fully displays his translation concepts of “faithfulness” and “smoothness”. However, few people have made a study on one of his translated prose from the perspective of the translator’s subjectivity. This paper analyzes the manifestation of his subjectivity in the prose translation by taking his version of Peanuts as a case study. This thesis firstly introduces some researches on the issue of the translator’s subjectivity at home and abroad, and then analyzes the major manifestations of it. Next this paper presents a detailed analysis of the manifestation of the translator’s subjectivity in Professor Zhang’s version of Peanuts at the macro level and the micro level. At the macro level, it focuses on the display of the translator’s subjectivity in the aspects of the comprehension of the source text, the translation purpose and methods. At the micro level, this paper concretely analyzes the manifestation of the translator’s subjectivity at the lexical level and syntactic level.
