Abstract

 

This paper centers on the study of equal opportunities and competition in American business, finding out why the culture come in to being, how it developed, and what impact it has on the country.

The American business development had influenced by its objective environment and historical conditions, it also more influenced by its traditional cultural values. Looking back at history, it is not hard to see that national spirits promoted the continuous development of industrialization. Therefore, it is necessary to study American culture, especially the equal opportunities and competition on the impact of American business development. Research in this field can provide some historical experience and reference for China’s economic development.

Democracy and equality are the essence of American culture and an important part of American values. Equality of opportunity is actually a manifestation of fairness and democracy,  which exists in all aspects of social life. While advocating democracy and equality, it doesn’t  mean competition is unnecessary. It can be said that competition is a nice complement to equal opportunities. Americans believe that business is based on competition, it can constantly offer effective ideas and fresh thinking. it has stronger position than other social institutions. Most Americans regard competition as the major source of progress and wealth, the commercial institution which pays attention to competition received attention. Competition also ensure personal freedom, equal opportunities. Competition strengthens the concept of equal opportunity. Competition was seen as an open and fair competition. Everyone has the opportunity to win the finally success.
