Abstract
Etiquette is not just one kind of soundless language for all of us know, etiquette itself is also a kind of practical tool. As international exchanges continue to accelerate and economic globalization continues to develop, different cultures of the world are converging and penetrating each other. Obviously, the process is accelerating. However, different culture has different etiquette standards. This dissertation analyses and compares the Chinese and western etiquette culture from four parts: titles and forms of address, greeting and introductions, dining and wining, dressing. In order to get better understanding of the western cultural traditions, customs and social norms before Chinese and western culture mix together perfectly, we need to strengthen communication and understanding, learn about differences and the forming reasons, promote the mutual understanding and identification of different cultures and to thus more conducive to us to make cross-cultural communication.
