Abstract
Motivation is a significant factor that influences learners' acquisition of language. The new English Curriculum Standard stresses the need to fully stimulate students’ interest in English learning and help them build up their sense of achievement and confidence in the language learning. This paper first clarifies the connotation of motivation and its role in English learning. Then does an analysis of the influencing factors from the aspect of the society, family, teachers, students’ learning attitudes and strategies. Finally, puts forward some ways to stimulate students’ learning motivation.
