Abstract
The differences in family education between China and America are the main reasons for the existing communication barriers between two nations. Family education, as one important part of education, has a huge influence on the cultivation of children’s sentiment, moral character, and personality, which also has the responsibility for the different characters between Chinese and American. This thesis studies the different ideas, behaviors from Chinese mothers and American daughters in the film The Joy Luck Club, and discusses the impact of the different family educations on people’s characters and the improvements for Chinese education.
