Abstract
This thesis is a study on comparisons of similarities between F Scoot Fitzgerald and Gatsby. The aim of this thesis is to have a further understanding of tragic fates of the two and of meanings of Fitzgerald’s works. It is also for learning more about the negative influences of American dream on adolescents of that generation. The thesis first made comparisons about the similarities of their early life, including their family background, childhood experience, army experience. Then made comparisons about their similar pursuit for love and wealth. Finally, the thesis made comparisons between their similar road of decadence and tragic endings.
