Abstract: With the development of the Internet, Chinese Internet catchwords are emerging like an endless flow, and increasingly being used by the public and the media. They reflect the spirit of the times, showing the rapid changes in the society, culture, life and other fields in recent years. Chinese Internet catchword is a special language variant, which has the cultural connotation beyond the semantic features. As a popular language used in the network communication, the studies of its translation have become an Internet craze. This paper firstly briefly analyzes the Internet catchwords’ classification and its characteristics, and then uses Eco-translatology theory as a guide to search for its C-E translation. By studying the practical examples of Internet catchwords translations with the dimension of linguistics, culture, and communication, this paper tries to explore suitable translation strategies, aiming to provide a new perspective for C-E translation of Internet catchwords.
