Abstract: As a kind of unique movie, cartoon is becoming more and more popular for its interesting representation and ample imaginary space. It can remind the audience of their childhood as well as reflect a country’s value. This paper will take Zootopia and Boonie Bears as examples and analyze the differences of the screen culture of China and the US in themes, characters and industries. Through comparison we can understand the deficiency of domestic animated movies, provide several strategies for the development of domestic animated movies and then seek a better development for it in the cultural communication and collision.
