Abstract:Student’s grades and their interest in English reflect an English teacher’s level. A good English teacher must have a series of special teaching method. And a qualified English teacher should play a particular role both in teaching and in life. A good English teacher should not only master basic teaching skills, but also need to make use of his/her characteristic and appropriate words to stimulate student’s learning initiative. And teachers should make teaching plans according to student’s characteristic and interests, lead students to learn together, cultivate their good learning habits and help them find their own ways and etc. Teachers should make a favorable language environment to help students learn four different aspects of English: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Besides, reluctance in student’sl earning and life in spirit and real sense, teachers must have patience, confidence, enthusiasm, passion and creativity in spite of their age. They should encourage students frequently trust students and strengthen student’s confidence toward learning English.
