Abstract
The New Curriculum Standard indicates that students are the main body of the study and development. We should propose the learning method which is independent, cooperative and exploratory. And cooperative learning method is just an important way to cultivate students’ spirit of exploration, cooperation and innovation. The cooperative learning method is usually applied in the English class,because it can fully mobilize the students’ enthusiasm of English learning, and involve every student into class. And also students can learn listening, expression and communication; furthermore, their cooperative consciousness and communicative competence will be improved.
Cooperative learning is a learning method whose unit is a group, and also a learning strategy including both objectives of learning and social skills. Cooperative learning not only strengthens the interactions between students and teachers but also adds the communication among students. For language learning, the best and most effective way is speaking. And evaluation is an important part of the cooperative learning, which can help students know others and improve themselves. Cooperative learning can improve the cooperative consciousness and communicative competence which are useful in students’ study and life, too. In order to validate whether cooperative learning can improve students’ learning efficiency、enthusiasm and scores or not, I have an experiment in Southwest Jiaotong University affiliated Middle School.
This experiment is conducted from 28th, September to 29th, November, having two class as experimental class and comparative class. There are two exam and questionnaire before the beginning and at the end of the experiment, and the data and analyze will be explained in the context.
