Abstract

The Bible is considered as the most influential and valuable book in human civilization. The Bible includes two parts: the Old Testament and the New Testament. The book of Matthew is the first part of the New Testament, and it mainly talked about the doctrine and teaching of Jesus. Sermon on the Mount is the first part and most important aspect of Matthew because it compiles eight beatitudes of Jesus, which provides people with the standard of right behavior.

  "Beatitude" is the desire of each person, but different people have different understandings of the blessing. In the end, what kind of people will be blessed in the Old Testament(Matthew 14:21)? In the four Gospels of the New Testament, and the Lord Jesus spoke of many blessed truths. It is more blessed to give than to receive, and this teaching highlights the uniqueness and importance of this truth. Love is the center of Jesus’ teachings of Sermons on the Mountain. Love is more important than anything. And we should not only love our neighbors but also our enemies. Love is also the leading of Bible.

  Actually, the word“beatitude”means "spiritual well-being and prosperity." This is related to the deep joy of the soul. The beatitudes include poor, mourn, meek, hungry for righteousness, merciful, pure, peacemakers, and persecuted. Looking at the meaning of these eight beatitudes from the different perspective, people have different understandings. I am going to do a research about the analysis of the beatitudes in Matthew of the Bible through explaining its background, characteristics, meaning and significance, trying to dig out more useful information of this masterpiece.
