Abstract
As the film title services as the film’s face and label, its translation should be paid serious attention to. However, there is no systematic or official translation method provided until now. Though film title translation has been a hot spot in research field in these years, few analyzed it from a macroscopic angle. Eco-translatology is a new theory proposed in recent years, which focuses on macroscopic and systematic perspective to the translation. Compared to other theories, it offers new descriptions and explanations to the translation essence, process, methods and so on, providing a different angle and new starting point for translation study. Based on this, this paper makes an attempt to illustrate and analyze the English film title translation under the guidance of the three-dimensional principles of Eco-translatology Theory, namely the linguistic, cultural and communicative dimensions, in order to provide a different perspective for this study and enrich it.
