ABSTRACT
Reading comprehension is the foundation of learning English in senior high school and that is a tool to get information from passages and dialogues. So help students to have an effective English learning strategy and develop comprehensive language application ability are very significant for teachers.
Since task-based teaching approach was proposed in new curriculum standard. It is also considered an important channel to promote curriculum reform in primary and middle schools. Task-based teaching approach does not support the teaching method which just impart language point into students but help them to have comprehensive language application ability.
This paper focuses on Task-based teaching approach which has special theoretical basis, principles and models and describes experimental teaching model under the guidance of Task-based teaching approach. After this, it is also vital to investigating the common problems which students have in reading class and analyzing the origination of these problems
It has been indicated that Task-based Approach can give teachers a better chance of growing and improve students’ individual characteristics, arouse their interest in English reading comprehension.
