Abstract: Based on the characteristics of menus of Chinese national banquets, the paper analyzes “the menu of national banquet of G20 Summit”, finding the problems in translating. And main problems include the misuses of singular and plural noun forms, omission translation and the inaccurate uses of words. On the basis of information equivalence, discussing the menu of national banquets and presenting that translation is an activity of information transmission and information equivalence is essential in menu translation. Only use the principle of information equivalence, the translation can reproduce the source language as accurately as possible.
