Abstract
Task-based Language Teaching is a language teaching approach based on tasks. The basic mode of task-based teaching of English major in college is: based on the task, student-centered, skill-based training, students can do something as the teaching goal. Proper application of task-based teaching to English majors of all kinds of teaching is helpful to active class atmosphere, to stimulate interest in learning, to improve students’ autonomous learning ability, to cultivate the spirit of cooperation and the ability to do something, and realize three kinds of teaching goals, which put forward by the syllabus.
Task-based language teaching is a foreign language teaching method , which takes meaning as the center, completes the communication task as the teaching goal. In college English teaching, it emphasizes that the learners should actively participate in real communicative activities and complete the task in use of the target language. Through the development of the activities and the completion of the task, so that students acquire language knowledge and improve language skills.
