ABSTRACT:Nowadays, the current writing ability of English major is not good. As a college student, especially an English major, English writing is a very important part, and good writing skill often can reflect someone’s English level. Many scholars have done some researches, and try to find out some useful methods to improve the situation
This paper, taking Chongqing University of Science and Technology as an example, through questionnaire and interview of English newspaper and magazine reading class, is to explore the improvement of the English majors’ writing via English newspaper and magazine reading class. According to the results of the data analysis, the class does improve the English majors’ writing.

摘要:当前英语专业学生英语写作能力水平存在着不足之处。作为一个大学生，尤其是英语专业的学生，英语写作是个很重要的板块，良好的写作水平往往能取得满意的成绩。很多学者都做了一些研究,并尽力找出一些有用的方法改善这种情况。
本论文以重庆科技学院为例，通过对英语报刊阅读这门课问卷调查以及课后访问的方式，研究英语报刊阅读对提高英语专业学生的写作水平的作用。数据分析结果表明，英语报刊阅读课程的确对英语专业学生的写作有提高作用。
