Abstract:The study of polite language is always a key issue of language in English business negotiations. Since in the complex business negotiations, if both negotiators do not pay attention to the use of polite language, they will be easily in embarrassment and deadlock situations. And they could also lose deals which could have been made successful. In view of importance of polite language in business negotiations, the author regards On the Application of Language in English Business Negotiations from the Perspective of Politeness Principle as the title of dissertation. And the author would like to study the specific application and significances of language in English business negotiations from the perspective of Politeness Principle. Under the guidance of Leech’s Politeness Principle theory, the author conducted a descriptive and explanatory research about the application of language in business negotiations. This dissertation studies the specific application and significances of language in English business negotiations from the perspective of Politeness Principle, to provide beneficial enlightenment and a practical theory basis on using polite language for negotiators.

摘要:礼貌用语的研究一直是英语商务谈判中语言的重点课题。因为在复杂的商务谈判中,若谈判双方不注意礼貌用语的运用,双方就很容易陷入尴尬和僵局,并且使本来可以成交的买卖也可能会失去。鉴于礼貌用语对于商务谈判双方的这种重要性,在此笔者把“从礼貌原则的角度看英语商务谈判中语言的运用”作为本文的主题,并希望借此来研究礼貌原则下英语商务谈判中语言的具体运用和意义。在Leech的礼貌原则的理论指导下,笔者对商务谈判中语言的运用进行了描述性和解释性研究。本文研究了商务谈判中礼貌语言的具体运用和描述了礼貌原则在商务谈判语言中的意义。希望本文的研究结果能为商务谈判人员的礼貌语言运用提供启发和实际的理论支撑。
