Abstract：With the development of economic globalization, there are more and more chances for the automobile industry in the world. On the whole, the automobile industry in China has been keeping a good develop trend since 2001. As the automobile instruction (owner’s manual) is the basic tool to describing the automobile’s functions, features, and also is the user’s guide, it becomes the bridge between the automobile factory and the customer, and even a promise to the client. Automobile owner’s manual is packed with valuable instructions, information and warnings, maintenance information, rescue call and so on. The translation of imported automobile instruction to the domestic customer is really important, whick should arouse the concerns of translators.
The Chinese market is developing very fast and the import of automobiles is increasing too. A concise automobile owner’s manual is to guarantee the domestic customer against loss, to ensure safety.
This thesis, from perspective of Skopos theory, makes a research by comparing two or more kinds of automobile owner’s manuals in word formation, sentence structure, and finally makes a conclusion indicating that the Chinese translation of the instruction should be clear, concise and exact so as to benefit automobile owners.

中文摘要：随着经济全球化的进一步发展,汽车行业参与国际交流的机会越来越多,汽车使用说明书内概括了汽车产品的性能、特点和使用方法等信息。汽车说明书是汽车厂商为消费者提供服务的重要说明文件，甚至是一种约定。准确翻译说明书上的汽车使用常识、汽车救援电话、养护注意事项等实用信息应受到更多的关注。
中国市场巨大，进口汽车日渐增多，需求增加。一份用最简洁的句子提供尽可能多的信息，不仅能确保用车安全，也能提供的信息具有客观性和准确性的汽车说明书对国内车主至关重要。
本文通过利用翻译目的论对比两款以上进口汽车英文使用说明书的构词方式、句式等方面进行分析,总结出汽车英文使用说明书具有的语言特点,进而说明汽车说明书翻译对中国市场的重要性。本文的研究目的在于强调重视对进口汽车说明书的翻译的严谨性、准确性，因为它决定着国内车主的安全和切身利益。
