Abstract:A White Heron is a famous work of Sarah Orne Jewett. It is so popular in the world. Concerning the interpretation of this masterpiece, many previous researches have pointed out their ideas. The early researches were from ecological theory or feminism theory. Then, some scholars were successful in analyzing this novel from Eco-feminism theory.
The objective of the dissertation is to emphasize the importance of Eco-feminism reflected in A White Heron. From the very perspective of Eco-feminism, this dissertation research tries to prove the feminist consciousness and present the harmony between human and nature in the novel. First, by discussing the relationship between females and nature, this dissertation proves that Jewett supports the Eco-feminism theory. Then, the different values and the inner conversion of Sylvia will reveal the necessity and urgency of constructing a harmonious environment for both human beings and nature.
It is the hope of the author that the present study will bring some new light to the interpretation of this great work.

关于该小说的阐释，不少学者的研究都发表了相关想法。早期的研究多着眼于解读其生态主义和女性主，随后，一些学者以生态女性理论来分析这本小说，并取得成功。
本论文的目的是强调生态女性主义在《白苍鹭》所起到的重要作用。本论文以生态女性主义的角度来证明小说中蕴含着女性意识和人类与自然和谐共处的观念。首先，通过讨论女性与自然的相互关系来证明朱厄特是生态女性主义的支持者。随后，本文将分析男女之间不同的价值观念和西尔维亚的内心转变。揭示建构人与自然和谐生存的必要性和紧迫性。
希望本文的写作为《白苍鹭》的解读提供一种新的视角和启发。
