Abstract:The purpose of this study was to investigate the problems concerning the efficiency of classroom instruction for college English teaching at present, and explore the role interaction may play in improving the efficiency of English classroom instruction. The classroom observation was made in a class with a total of 160 non-English major freshmen from College of Computer Science of Nanjing Normal University. The findings of this study showed that the present English teaching situation was far from satisfactory to achieve the ultimate goal of college English teaching advocated in the College English Curriculum Requirements. Most teachers paid attention to deliver professional knowledge while students only strived for higher scores and misunderstood the meaning and goal of learning English. Thus, the current situation should be improved. The implication of this paper was going to introduce an ideal improving method—interaction, which can be applied to improve the teaching effect for the college English classroom instruction.

摘要:本文着重研究目前大学英语教学过程中有效性教学的相关问题,并探究师生互动对提高教学有效性的作用。通过对南京师范大学计算机科学学院大一非英语专业160名学生的课堂观察,作者发现现如今大学英语教学的情况很难满足“大学英语课程改革”对大学生提出的学习要求。现如今,大学英语教师主要着重教授专业知识,而学生则主要关注学业成绩的高与低却误解了学习英语的真正意义和目的。所以,目前这种状况急需改善。为此,本文将介绍一种能提高大学英语教学效果的方法----师生互动,并介绍几种师生互动的方法来提高教学效果,以满足“大学英语课程改革”对大学教学提出的要求。
