Abstract: An idiom is a special language form that is rich in cultural connotations. Idioms exist in every language, including English. Idioms with personal names are one of the most common types. In recent years, the translation of this type of idioms has attracted more and more attention. How to translate idioms with personal names properly is a question for many scholars in every country. Content schema, one of the important and primary concepts in linguistics, has played an important role in explaining the translation process. This thesis attempts to study how to translate English idioms with personal names into Chinese from the perspective of content schema, with the hope of enhancing the maneuverability and scientific power in idiom translation.

摘要：习语是一种具有文化内涵的语言形式。各种语言中都包含了大量的习语，英语也不列外。而人名习语是习语中最常见的一种。近年来，人名习语翻译也越来越被重视。如何恰当的翻译好人名习语是各国很多学者研究和探讨的问题。内容图式作为语言学中一个重要的基本概念，对翻译具有很大的阐释力。本文尝试用图式理论来研究英语人名习语的汉译，希望通过这样的研究，进一步增强习语翻译的可操作性和科学性。
