Abstract: With the swift process of economic globalization, the international tourism industry is becoming more and more prosperous. However, the cultural differences have posed many difficulties for people from different countries to understand each other .It is necessary to remove the obstacles in communication and to translate the scenic spots and tourism texts precisely and elegantly. This paper aims to investigate the situation of tourism translation. By taking the tourist attractions in Nanjing as an example, and analyzing the shortcomings in the translation, the thesis focuses on errors in spelling and grammar, and inappropriateness in consistency. It also gives some advises to improve the translation in terms of translation management, translators, and the translation strategies. It is hoped that this thesis can be useful so that foreign friends can know better about Nanjing’s culture.

摘要:随着经济全球化脚步的加快,国际旅游业的发展势头也越来越强劲。然而文化差异使得不同文化背景的人们之间的相互理解变得困难,因而如何正确翻译旅游景点就显得格外重要。本文分析了旅游业翻译的现状并以南京的旅游景点翻译为例,着重从拼写、语法、一致性这三个角度去分析翻译中的不足,并从管理环节、译员的选配和翻译策略上提出了一些改进措施,期望对我国景点公示语的翻译质量有所裨益,在一定程度上促进南京的国际旅游事业的发展。
