Abstract: For many years, college English teaching in our country pays close attention to language itself, but ignores the importance of culture. Therefore, misunderstanding may appear in cross-cultural communication. In the process of college English teaching, the effective introduction of culture of the target language is helpful in arousing students’ intercultural awareness and enhancing their intercultural communication competence. This thesis aims to introduce three principles in integrating culture into teaching college English: principle of practicability, principle of relevance and principle of moderation. It also provides some insight into four methods of cultural introduction: practice, reading, case analysis and comparison.

摘要:在我国大学英语教学中,常常出现由于忽视文化内涵的输入而影响交际的效果,甚至导致许多场合交际失误的案例。在大学英语教学过程中,有效的引进目标语言文化有助于培养学生的跨文化意识,提高其跨文化交际能力。本文探讨了文化导入在大学英语教学中的三大原则—实用性原则、相关性原则、适度性原则和四大方法—实践法、阅读法、案例分析法、比较法。
