Abstract :With the development of research on psycholinguistics and foreign language teaching, more attention has been paid to the research of learners’ motivation. A study is conducted on the students from class B in Nanjing Xiaozhuang college. The research aims at answering the three questions : (1)What are students’ general motivation orientations for taking English as a foreign language? (2) What’s the relationship between achievement and motivation?(3)Are the strategies effective enough to enhance and maintain students’ motivation? Through research and analysis, this paper aims at strengthening students’ motivation by proposing some strategies such as establishing a good student-teacher relationship, taking effective teaching methods, improving students’ confidence, and giving positive assessment and effective feedback.

摘要:随着心理语言学和外语教学研究的发展,越来越多的研究开始注重对学习者进行动机研究。这次对南京晓庄学院B班的学生进行了调查,旨在回答以下三个问题:1.英语专业学生学习英语的动机取向是什么?2.动机与成就之间的关系是什么?3.建立友好的师生关系及提高学生的信心等措施真的能够提高并维持学生的学习动机吗?通过调查分析,文章最后提出了通过建立良好的师生关系,采取有效教学手段,帮助学生获得自信和积极的评价以及给予有效的反馈等策略来增强学生的学习动机。
