Abstract: The Internet language has greatly enriched the original vocabulary system, and made up for the deficiency of words and phrases in our daily communication, especially in on-line communication. There are a high proportion of netizens using English and Chinese. The traits of their network words represent the developing trend of the world network communication. This thesis mainly analyses and probes into the main word-buildings of English and Chinese net languages，then compares the similarities and differences between them. By comparison, it can not only help us understand and grasp the general characteristics of network communication language，but also improve the cross-cultural communicative ability in a network context.

摘要：网络交际语极大地丰富了人们原有的词汇系统,弥补了现有语言在网络交际中的不足。英语和汉语的网民人数占世界网民人数的绝大多数,其网络交际词语的构词特征,代表了世界网络交际语言的发展趋势。本文列举了英汉网络主要的造词方法，并且比较了其不同点与相似点。通过比较，不仅可以帮助我们了解和掌握网络交际语言的普遍特征,而且可以提高在网络语境下的跨文化交际能力。
