Abstract:This study explores the influence of anxiety factors on the listening ability of college English learners based on the questionnaires and interviews conducted among a total of 150 English majors from several classes of three grades in Xuzhou Institute of Technology. The research shows us that most of the participants have anxiety of different degrees in their listening learning. Anxiety is the key factor that affects learners’ listening competence. Listening anxiety and the level of listening comprehension has significantly negative correlation. Listening anxiety is caused by characteristics of input foreign language, process-related aspects of listening comprehension, instructional elements, personal attributes of teachers and students, which may be eliminated by motivating learners to listen more, developing students’ positive attitude, and enhancing learners’ confidence. This study helps to improve English majors’ listening ability.

摘要:本文以xx学院外国语学院英语专业学生为研究对象,通过问卷调查分析了焦虑因素对英语听力学习的影响。研究表明:焦虑因素是影响学习者英语听力学习成败与否的关键因素;同时焦虑程度与学习者的听力成绩成高度负相关性。听力学习中的焦虑主要是受四种因素影响的。即:外语输入特征、听力理解的流程因素、教学因素、教师和学生的个人特质。只有鼓励学习者多进行听力练习;培养学生的积极态度和增强学习者在听力学习过程中的自信心,才能提高英语专业学生听力水平。
