Abstract:Pride and Prejudice is one of Austen’s greatest works. The novel reveals the views on marriage of the majority the 19th century by describing different marriages. People in Austen’s age believe that money is of great significance by playing the role in marriage. Thus in Pride and Prejudice the author attaches the importance to the relationship between money and marriage. The role, money played, is meanly determined by the situation of that age, late 18th century and early 19th century which controlled totally by economic power in Britain. Neverthless, this novel still reveals the views on marriage of Austen that the happiness of marriage is not supposed to be based on the money and the pure beneficial relationship but true love and mutual respect. Based on Austen’ view of marriage, the thesis mainly discusses Austen’s understanding of marriage by analyzing the three marriages in the novels. Through the detailed analysis of different marriages in the novel, we can see that an ideal marriage is based on true love and mutual respect in Austen’s opinion.

摘 要:《傲慢与偏见》是19世纪女作家简奥斯汀的伟大著作之一。小说揭示了19世纪大多数人对于在小说中展示的不同的婚姻的婚姻观。人们在简奥斯汀的时代相信金钱在婚姻中扮演着重要的角色。简奥斯汀在她的小说中反映着金钱与婚姻关系的重要性。金钱扮演的角色主要是由当时18世纪末19世纪初由经济主宰的英国世界而决定的。尽管如此，简奥斯汀仍然在《傲慢与偏见》中表达了自己的婚姻观：婚姻的本质不仅仅是金钱交易和互惠互利。基于简奥斯汀的婚姻观，论文通过分析三种不同的婚姻来展示简奥斯汀的婚姻观。凭借对这些婚姻的分析，论文指出简奥斯汀对婚姻的看法和观点我们可以看出：一段理想的婚姻应该建立在真爱和互相理解的基础上。
