Abstract:In recent years, we have been constantly searching for novel methods to conduct an English class. The terminal purpose is to improve the students’ abilities of all aspects. Classroom is the main place for educators to deliver knowledge and the essential source for students’ learning. So, English teachers are supposed to try every effort to conduct a good class. Lead-in is a part of the teaching process and it plays an important role in an English class. Whether lead-in is appropriate or not will influence the teaching result. Lead-in is an activity in which teachers organize students to be prepared for the knowledge and lead them to the study condition when a new course starts. A wonderful lead-in with good methods can create a good atmosphere in which students can please their minds and pay their attention to the teaching aims and procedures with strong interests and desires. This essay mainly deals with some requirements and problems which the teachers should pay attention to. To arouse, advertise and advance are the three functions of lead-in .In conclusion, the excellent beginning is the essential part of success.

摘要:近些年高校英语教学不断进行改革和创新，目的是真正全面提高学生的英语综合应用能力。课堂教学是学校教学工作开展的主要场所，也是学生接受知识的重要索源。所以对一名英语教师来讲，努力上好每一节课应是不断追求的目标。课堂导入是教学过程的一个组成部分，在英语课堂中发挥着重要的作用。课堂导入的准确与否会直接影响整堂课的效果。课堂导入是老师开展新课之前组织学生学习新的知识并把学生引入新的一课的一项活动。方法恰当的精彩的课堂导入能使学生心情愉悦并能尽快投入老师的教学目标且引发出强烈的学习兴趣和欲望。本文主要阐述老师在课堂导入应该注意的问题及要素。引起学生注意，传递教学信息，加深课堂理解是课堂导入的三个重要作用。总的来说，好的开始是一堂好课的必备元素。
