Abstract:As China has become one member of WTO, and its economy is expanding rapidly, the demand of talents in Business English has also increased. Nowadays, many universities set up Business English course in China in order to cultivate talents who are good at analyzing and solving problems of business affairs. However, Business English is a new course in Chinese education, the majority of teachers are lack of experience, and there are not integrated and suitable teaching materials for Business English. Planning of Business English course should be improved by adjustment、consolidation、and substantiation, to fulfill the demand of talents in economic globalization.
In Business English course, students can learn a few words or phases of Business English; they seldom attend to the real business activities and practices. Nevertheless, a Business Course should be included various kinds of simulative situations in business, such as the negotiation of business, the discussion of trading fairs, and the introduction of management, except for vocabulary, grammar and writing. In terms of teachers, some universities pay a lot of money to invite many foreign teachers whose English is native and fluent, but they are socialistic in business so that students can not be taught a systemic knowledge of business. On the other hand, some teachers from inland have a business degree, which are acquainted and have enough business experience, but they can not speak English very well. Therefore, it is necessary to discuss and research teaching methods of Business English curriculum. This paper will analyze the current problem in teaching Business English, introduce four new teaching methods of oral, vocabulary, listening and writing according to the definition of Business English, and give some suggestion for teaching Business English, such as the qualification of Business English teacher and teaching material.

中文摘要:随着中国加入WTO,经济得到飞快的发展,社会对商务英语专门人才的需求也在增长。为了适应新形势的需求,目前国内有许多高校都开设了有关商务英语的课程。但是,高校开设商务英语专业历时较短,大部份教师实践经验不足,缺乏针对性教材,也没有形成的教学模式可参考。商务英语这门课程必须改进,通过调整、巩固、充实、提高的途径使之适应“经济全球化”发展的需要。
以往的商务英语课上,由于课时的不足和教师专业知识的受限,学生只能够接触到一些简单的商务词汇和短语,很少甚至没有涉及到任何形式的商业活动和商务实践。而完整的商务英语课程应包括的内容远不止这些,除了必需的词汇和短语,至少还要设置各种商业活动的模拟场景,例如商务谈判和对外贸易洽谈、西方先进管理理念的介绍,以及各种管理思想在组织当中的实践等等。在师资方面,一些学校不惜重金聘请外教授课,他们虽然英语很好,却绝大多数对商业运作不甚了解,从而无法教授给学生透彻的商务知识;而国内一些教师出身商业专科,商业知识基础没有问题,也不乏商业活动经验,但是英语水平却不敢恭维。因此,探讨和研究影响商务英语教学有着重要意义。本文以商务英语的定义出发,分析中国商务英语教学的存在问题,提出听说读写四个方面的四个创新教学法,最后提出对商务英语教学中教师、教材等建议。
