Abstract:The paper attempts to analyze the character of Aslan in The Lion, the Witch, and the
Wardrobe written by C.S Lewis. Lewis tells a story about the experience of the four children in Narnia. Although Aslan does not appear at the beginning of the novel, yet he plays an irreplaceable role in the whole story. Therefore the research on Aslan counts for much. This paper will be divided into three parts to emphasize and summarize the character of Aslan. The first part, through the children and the animals’ remarks and expressions， shows Aslan’s stateliness, evidenced by his influence and leadership. The second part, through the process of fighting with the evil White Witch and rescuing Edmund, mirrors Aslan’s wisdom. The third part, through protecting Edmund, demonstrates Aslan’s philanthropy. The difference in the paper from other scholars lies in the analysis on Aslan’s character through details.
Through reading the novel and integrating some analyses from renowned scholars such as Colin Duriez, Bruce Edwards and Wayne Martindale, this paper explores the bright sides of Aslan’s character---stateliness, wisdom, philanthropy，in association with the meaning of the Stone Table, Deep magic and Deeper magic.

摘 要:本论文主要关注并分析C.S. 路易斯的小说《狮子，女巫和魔衣橱》中狮子阿斯兰的性格。路易斯在这本小说中描述了四个小孩儿在纳尼亚的经历，而狮子阿斯兰在小说中起着不可替代的作用，阿斯兰没有在一开始就出现，但他的影响贯穿全文，所以对他的研究有重要意义。本文主要研究狮子阿斯兰的性格，总结揭示阿斯兰的性格魅力并发掘值得我们学习的有价值的东西。论文将主要分为三个部分突出阿斯兰在不同时期性格特征的侧重点。第一部分通过未出现之前孩子们以及动物们谈论阿斯兰的话语和表情体现阿斯兰的威严，主要体现在它对纳尼亚的影响和领导力；第二部分通过在与邪恶的白女巫和其追随者之间的斗争及拯救埃德蒙过程中体现阿斯兰的智慧；第三部分通过采取保护埃德蒙的行为,和孩子们之间的对话以及实现和白女巫之间的诺言体现阿斯兰的博爱。
本论文通过文本解读，综合分析一些对文本有较深入研究的学者及权威专家如: 柯林.杜瑞兹、布鲁斯. 爱德华兹、伟恩. 马丁戴尔等的文章或书籍，发掘《狮子，女巫和魔衣橱》中狮子阿斯兰性格的闪光点-威严、智慧和博爱，寻找人们可以学习的有价值的品质。
