Abstract:Human communication is in two ways: verbal behavior, the other is nonverbal behavior. Body language is the only language used throughout most of the world. In many centuries, there was absolutely no oral or written language, but people could communicate with each other as well. When language finally developed, body language became an important part of nonverbal communication. This is because in interpersonal communication，quite a number of messages are conveyed through such nonverbal means as touch，eye contact，posture，gesture，facial expressions and subtle differences in tone．which can give fuller expression to people’s hidden mind and emotions．Bi Jiwan (1999) thought that:”In social communication, the message they give from the body language is much more than from their talk.” Some research of America show that: in expressing emotion or attitude, verbal behavior in all social behavior is only 7%, but tone and facial expression are as much as 93%. As we can see that how important nonverbal behavior play in social communication.
The article is aimed at stirring up more and more people to pay attention to the message conveys from the body language, so that we can improve our social skill and avoid some misunderstanding or behavior error in social communication

摘 要:人类的交际是通过两种形式进行的，一是通过语言行为，二是通过非语言行为。身体语言是唯一全球通用的语言。过去许多世纪中并不存在口语和书面语，但人们同样能互相沟通交流。当语言已经发展成熟，身体语言成为非语言交际中的重要组成部分。正因在人与人的交际中，许多信息是通过非语言行为传递的，例如，接触、眼神交流、姿势、手势、脸部表情和语音语调的差别，他们能更好的表达人们隐藏的思想与情绪。毕继万认为：“在交际中，一个人的仪表和举止所提供的信息量往往大大超过其谈吐所提供的信息量。”美国有的研究还表明，在表达感情和态度时，语言只占交际行为的7%，而声调和面部表情所传递的信息却多达93%。由此我们可以看出非言语行为在交际中的重要性。
本文旨在引起更多人对身体语言传达的信息的关注和研究，使我们在交际中避免行为失误和交际上的误解，从而提高我们自身的交际能力。
