Abstract:As we all know, individualism is regarded as a core of three American values – individualism, equality and materialism. Individualism is deeply rooted in all the aspects of American life. Of course, education is not reception. The fact shows that in American education, individualism has accompanied their studies all the way down from the elementary schools to graduate schools. This paper attempts to explain to you individualism embodied in American education and to make analysis on the causes of positive and negative impact on American students. In doing so, the paper finally will arrive at a conclusion that the individualism will have a long-term influence on the development of the formation of American students’ personalities and attitudes in the course of their education from the primary school to higher education.

摘要:美国价值观的三大价值观是个人主义，平等和唯物主义，而个人主义又被认为是这三大价值观的核心。本文通过诠释个人主义，分析美国教育现状，以及个人主义对美国学生的影响，来剖析中国人和西方人之间思维的差异，并用一些的语言现象来举例说明这些差异。事实上，个人主义已经深深扎根于美国生活的方方面面。在美国的教育中，个人主义一直伴随着他们的学习研究过程从小学到大学或者研究生阶段。本文试图向你解释个人主义体现在美国的教育中对美国学生的积极和消极影响的原因分析。因此，本文希望得出的结论是：在美国学生的教育课程中，个人主义会学生的个性和态度的形成和发展产生长期的影响。
