Abstract: Anxiety is regarded as one of the important affective variables in foreign language learning. The present study aims to investigate non-English majors’ English learning anxiety. The participants are 120 non-English majors. Data analysis result in the following major findings: 1) Anxiety does exist in students’ learning process, and the level of test anxiety is the highest; 2) The students of lower English proficiency level have higher level of anxiety than students of higher English proficiency level. Based on the results of the present study, some suggestions are put forward in order to help to ease the students’ English learning anxiety.

摘要:焦虑是影响外语学习的情感因素之一。本研究以120名大学非英语专业学生为研究对象,调查了大学非英语专业学生英语学习的焦虑情况。研究结果表明:1)非英语专业大学生的英语学习焦虑普遍存在,在各类焦虑中,考试焦虑最为显著。2)英语水平较低的学生的焦虑水平高于英语水平较高的学生。基于调查的结果,本文相应地提出了一些缓解英语学习焦虑的建议。
