ABSTRACT:Since the 1970s, cooperative learning has been used widely in the United States (Widdowson, 1978). Nowadays, Chinese English teachers (庞继贤,2000; 吴薇薇, 2000; 丁晓芬, 2006; etc.)also adopt cooperative learning notion in their English classes. Some researchers have studied many researches in cooperative learning, but the students’ attitudes towards cooperative learning are seldom discussed. The research aims to investigate the students’ attitudes towards cooperative learning. The paper first reviews some literature of cooperative learning and then implements a survey of 180 students in Honghe University. The findings of this study are that the students’ attitudes towards cooperative learning are positive, teachers’ participation in cooperative learning is necessary and the teachers should give students effective evaluation. Finally, this study also discusses the implications for English teaching and then gives some suggestions to teachers and students.

摘要:自20世纪70年代以来,合作学习被普遍应用于美国(Widdowson, 1978),目前在中国英语教学中也得到了广泛的应用。很多研究者(庞继贤, 吴薇薇, 2000; 丁晓芬, 2006; etc.)就合作学习做了大量的研究,但是,针对学生对合作学习态度的调查研究却很少涉及。这篇文章旨在调查学生对外语教学中实施合作学习的态度。文章首先总结了一些国内外文献资料,然后对红河学院180名学生进行了一项有关学生对于合作学习的态度调查研究。研究发现: 学生对教师采用合作学习的态度是积极的,教师有必要参与学生的合作学习并进行有效的评价。最后,本研究还探讨了这些结论对英语教学的启示和建议。
