ABSTRACT:Reflective learning is an essential part of autonomous learning and also an important way of improving autonomous learning. Taking narrative inquiry, in-depth interview and case study methods, the present study intends to achieve a fuller understanding of English freshmen’s reflective learning attitudes and its influential factors through learning journals. The subjects involved in this study were English major freshmen from Grade 2010 and Grade 2011 in Honghe University. The research data collected from their learning journals and in-depth interview, adapting a qualitative method. It indicates that use of reflective learning journals would increase the students’ level of reflection and raise their ability of critical thinking. The students hold a very positive attitude on reflective learning journals. Writing learning journals can improve comprehensive reflection on their English learning, research their way of learning, and optimize their learning strategies. Results of this study also support the argument that welled-adjusted classroom reflective activities help the students achieve greater success in their English learning.

摘要:反思性学习是自主学习的基本组成部分,同时也是提高学习者自主学习能力的一种重要途径。本研究采取了叙事研究、个案研究和深度访谈的研究方法,探讨和分析了红河学院英语专业2010与2011级新生的英语学习日志,全面理解其对反思性学习的态度以及影响其反思性学习及批判性思维的因素。研究数据表明:对于反思性学习日志大多数学生持一个比较积极的态度,他们认为写学习日志能使他们对自己的英语学习有一个综合的深度的反思。通过写学习日志,学生的反思性学习水平以及批判性思维能力都得到了提高,反思性课堂活动能帮助学生调整学习方法、优化学习策略从而在英语学习上获得更大的成功。
