Abstract: With the globalization of economy, politics and culture in the twenty-first century, intercultural communication is becoming more and more important. Interpretation is obviously playing the role of a bridge in the process of communicating with people who come from a different culture and speak a different language. It is of great significance to mediate culture in interpreting because cultural differences will sometimes lead to misunderstandings and thus hinder smooth communication. By probing into cultural differences between Chinese and English, the paper aims to find solutions to mediate these differences so as to facilitate successful interpretation.

摘要：在21世纪经济、政治、文化全球化的背景下，跨文化交际活动日趋频繁。口译活动在跨文化交际中发挥着桥梁作用，它使说着不同语言、有着不同文化背景的人们能够顺利地进行交流。我们应该看到，口译不仅是将信息从一种语言形式转化为另一种语言形式的语言交际行为，同时也是一种跨文化交际行为。不同语言中存在的文化差异势必会影响口译的顺利进行。本文分析了口译中存在的文化差异并提出了协调这些差异的方法。
