Abstract：As we know, English reading plays an important role in English learning, especially in English learning of senior high school students. How to improve English reading ability becomes the vital task in senior high school. However, there are still a lot of problems in English reading for senior high school students. Thus, according to the findings of the questionnaire from Grade 2 in Yuanjiang No. 1 Senior High School students, this paper analyzes English reading problems for senior high school students. From the investigation, there are 4 main reading problems have been found. Firstly, most students are shortage of vocabulary. Secondly, the reading speed is an important factor that influences the students’ reading. Thirdly, many students have some bad habits in reading. Fourthly, students do not have correct attitudes towards reading. This paper will give some suggestions to solve these problems: enlarge students’ vocabularies, improve students’ reading speed, form good habits through analyze the organization of article and learn more cultural knowledge.

中文摘要：众所周知， 英语阅读在英语学习中扮演着极其重要的角色，尤其是在高中的英语学习中。怎样提高高中学生的英语阅读能力成为了一项重要的任务。然而，在高中学生的英语阅读学习中仍然存有许多问题。根据对元江一中高二学生英语阅读的调查，本文分析了英语阅读中普遍存在的问题。从此次调查中发现影响阅读的四个主要因素是：第一，大多数学生缺乏足够的词汇量。第二，阅读速度是影响学生阅读效率的一个重要因素。第三，许多学生养成了不好的阅读习惯。第四，学生们没有端正自己对阅读的态度。因此，针对以上问题，本文也提出了一些建议和方法：扩大学生的词汇量， 提高他们的阅读速度，通过分析文章的结构养成良好的阅读习惯， 并且主动学习文化背景知识，端正自己对阅读的态度等。
