Abstract:The novel Gone with the Wind is quite popular from the time it published. This thesis tries to analyze the complexity of Scarlett’s characters from the aspect of literature. The thesis is composed of five chapters.It discusses how complicated her characters are at the very beginning, making a contrast of her two inconsistent characters. Then it analyzes the causes and effects of these characters and draws a conclusion at the end. Using her prominent techniques,Mitchell shows us a vivid image. It’s a great treasure in the history.
