Abstract:This paper aims to make a simple comparison of the similarities between the Chinese and English tourism texts of ancient Lijiang town in terms of the language and content, and the differences in wording, sentence patterns, content objectiveness and structure of discourse. The paper probes into the culture transmission of the ancient town Lijing from the perspective of domestication and foreignization. In addition, the paper discusses the translation of these tourism texts according to the theories of Eugene A. Nida, Peter Newmark, etc. so as to talk about how to improve the translation skills and transfer the Chinese culture as well.
