Abstract:This thesis aims to explore the narrative techniques effectively applied in Scott Fitzgerald’s masterpiece The Great Gatsby. Based on the theory of modern narratology, it analyzes the novel’s narrative techniques from the perspective of the point of view of narration, the pattern of narration and the structure of narration. Due to the great success of this masterpiece, Fitzgerald achieves a high status in the literary world. Apart from splendid plots, exquisite wording and vivid characters, the excellent narrative techniques also contribute to the success of the novel. By analyzing the narrative techniques adopted in the novel.,this study aims to explore the profound artistic charm and deepen the understanding of the novel’s theme.
