Abstract:Code switching is a phenomenon of social linguistics, which is very common on campus especially on college campus. This paper will analyze the different types of code switching, as well as causes of code switching in campus language in order to help the readers to better understand the variety of code switching in campus language. College students come from different places using different languages which make code switching a common case in college schools. The communication style and language expression become more and more variously due to the special identities of college students, they are the receivers and submitters of a large amount of information, code switching has become the communication strategy of college students. Not only code switching helps college students communicate, but also it helps them express effectively and richly.
