Abstract:Sexism in language arises as the result of the influence of certain communicative factors on language. The prevalence of sexism in language will inevitably have a negative effect on language learners and users, causing misleading barriers in their cognitive development. Based on the Theory of Sexism, this paper takes the English and Chinese language as an example, and makes comparative analysis of the phenomenon of female discrimination from the perspectives of vocabulary use and discourse style differences, etc. By comparing the phenomenon of female discrimination in English and Chinese language, the objective enlightenment of language use is discussed. The purpose is to avoid the deviation caused by the discrimination of the language, and also to improve the understanding of the social members on the language differences and language gender discrimination. It is of great significance to face up to the problem of sexism in language.
