Abstract
The significance of game based learning for young learners is underlined by the ways in which games and playful learning are associated with early language learning to motivate the students and increase their learning involvement. This study aims to implement Competitive-based Game and Cooperative-based Learning to explore the effects of two types of games on EFL learners` motivation, classroom engagement, and social interaction. To explore the value of competitive games and cooperative games in classroom teaching, the paper presents a description of competitive games and cooperative games performed in the class together with an analysis of the effects of two different interactive mode of educational game. To conclude this paper, the practical and theoretical implications for the fields of educational games research are discussed.
