Abstract
Story in an Hour is a short novel written by American woman writer Kate Chopin. This thesis analyzes the bud, conformation and establishment of Mrs. Mallard’s consciousness of individualism when she fight against the depression and disregard derived from traditional social ethic and the male-dominated social system . During this process, the theme of feminism is also revealed.
