Abstract
Idioms are a vital part of language. It is a widely used fixed phrase with specific meanings. It plays an increasingly momentous role in people's daily life. Idioms are wealthy in cultural connotations, which can reflect cultural differences in the natural environment, the historical culture aspects, customs, religious beliefs and usual practice of different names. It would be better to understand the correspondence of cultural connotation and reveal all sorts of phenomenon in cultural differences between Chinese idioms and English idioms by the comparison of Chinese idioms and English idioms. It can help the learners to use the language more appropriately and more freely in intercultural communication.
